Hearing Tests

for children and adults

We offer a comprehensive hearing assessment. We understand the importance of clear and confident communication. Our hearing assessment service is designed to provide a thorough evaluation of your hearing health, allowing us to create a personalized plan to help you hear your best.

    • Patient History: We'll begin with a detailed conversation about your ears and hearing history. It provides crucial context about your hearing concerns, past medical conditions, and lifestyle habits that can affect hearing. This information helps us tailor the evaluation and choose the most appropriate tests to determine the cause of any hearing loss.

    • Otoscopy: Visual examination of your ear canal and eardrum using a specialized scope to check for wax buildup or other conditions that may interfere with testing or cause hearing loss.

    • Tympanometry: This test measures the middle ear's pressure and functions to identify potential problems in the middle ear.

    • Pure Tone Audiometry: This test determines your hearing thresholds across a range of frequencies.

    • Speech Audiometry: We'll assess your ability to understand speech in quiet and noisy environments.

  • We'll discuss your test results in detail, answer your questions, and explain what they mean for your hearing health. Based on the findings, we'll recommend a personalized course of action, which may include:

    • Hearing aid consultation and fitting (if necessary)

    • Aural rehabilitation strategies to improve listening skills

    • Referral to an Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) specialist for further evaluation

Central Auditory
Processing Assessment

for Children and Adults

This assesses your brain's ability to process auditory information. Central auditory processing disorder (CAPD) is when the brain has difficulty interpreting sound signals, even when hearing levels are normal. This can lead to challenges with understanding speech in noisy environments, following directions, and learning.

Our clinic offers comprehensive CAPD evaluations to identify any processing difficulties. Following the evaluation, if needed, a collaborative intervention plan will be established to target specific auditory processing deficits and enhance communication skills.
